Conflict Resolution Day 2015
Calming Upset People
Summary
The 2015 topic focused on de-escalating emotionally charged situations. Based on the work of Bill Eddy*, the workshop had participants practice using empathy, attention, and respect (E.A.R) to calm people when they are angry or upset. They gained practical conflict resolution skills that were immediately useful to them for all interpersonal interactions. Materials were used with permission from Billy Eddy and the High Conflict Institute. Permission was granted specific to this event. However, for more information on the topic you can access the video below or go to http://highconflictinstitute.com/calming-upset-people-with-e-a-r In 2015 there were 15 events held across the province to celebrate Conflict Resolution Day.
