​Calming Upset People

Summary
The 2015 topic focused on de-escalating emotionally charged situations. Based on the work of Bill Eddy*, the workshop had participants practice using empathy, attention, and respect (E.A.R) to calm people when they are angry or upset. They gained practical conflict resolution skills that were immediately useful to them for all interpersonal interactions.

In 2015 there were 15 events held across the province to celebrate Conflict Resolution Day.

Calgary

A Conflict Experiment

Implementing ADR in our Lives
Hosted by: Community Calgary Mediation Society (CCMS)

​Description: Join us for an interactive evening of discussion and sharing ideas with like minded CMCS members. Guests are welcome. It is Conflict Resolution Day and a good time to examine some different aspects of conflict in our lives and the application of some of the principles of ADR. We will be watching some You Tube videos of mediations with discussion to follow plus some other activities that will allow us to reflect on the application of mediation skills in our lives.
